About Scott

Scott M. Kuboff, Esq. attended the University of Toledo where he earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in 2004 and graduated cum laude and with College Honors. Scott then attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he was the President of the Student Bar Association, active in Moot Court, and earned the CALI Excellence for Future Award in First Amendment, the CALI Excellence for Future Award in Advanced Brief Writing, the Ulmer & Berne First Year Intrascholastic Moot Court Award, and the Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs Award for Best Brief in First Year Intramural Competition.

Following his graduation in 2007, Scott passed the Ohio bar exam and immediately began his practice with a prominent Cleveland criminal defense firm. He gained extensive courtroom, trial, and appellate experience advocating on behalf of his clients.

Scott also represented clients in business litigation, contract disputes, domestic relations, personal injury matters, and defamation claims.

Scott’s professional affiliations include the Ohio State Bar Association and the William K. Thomas American Inn of Court. He also serves as a Pro Bono Panelist for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and a First Year Mentor for the Cleveland-Marshall Law Alumni Association.

Scott is married and resides in University Heights, Ohio, with his wife, Teri, and his two sons.  He is actively involved in USA Cycling and is a founder of North Coast Cycling, a northeast Ohio amateur cycling team.

Scott is a good standing member of the Ohio bar and has been admitted to practice in the Federal Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In 2016 and 2017, Scott was selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for Ohio. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in Ohio are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.

In 2015, Scott was selected as one of the top 10 personal injury attorneys in the State of Ohio by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA). NAOPIA uses a thorough selection process to determine the top Personal Injury attorneys in each state. With thousands of attorneys in each state, the NAOPIA's rigorous, independent selection process resolves the challenge of attorneys claiming to be "the best" without basis for such claims. For the injured, finding a well-qualified Personal Injury attorney is imperative, and the NAOPIA's process leaves no doubt as to whom the preeminent Personal Injury attorneys are:

  • The attorneys who make the NAOPIA list must first be nominated by a licensed practicing attorney.
  • Second, the NAOPIA research staff verifies the nominated individuals meet the minimum requirements of membership in the NAOPIA.
  • Then the NAOPIA processing committee selects a portion of the nominated attorneys to advance to the final selection stage.
  • Finally, the NAOPIA Board of Governors officially selects the TOP 10 Personal Injury attorneys in each state.
